
Whatshan Valley Hideaway is located in the Whatshan Valley, Needles, B.C., 2 hours East of Vernon or 1 hour South-West of Nakusp. Our site is down Whatshan Settlement Rd. just off Highway 6, so if you're just spending a night while passing through or you're in need of a getaway, we're located 2 1/2 Km off the Highway so there's plenty of peace and quiet.

There are 3 lakes just a 10 minute drive from our site; Whatshan Lake and Arrow Lake being most popular and Snowshoe Lale. Whatshan Lake is known for being one of the warmest lakes in Canada, there's a public beach for a picnic and swimming. Arrow Lake is great for fishing and boating, and Snowshoe Lake is more of a fishing lake.

Beautiful Whatshan Lake is only a 10 minute drive from our property, it has a public beach and boat launch if you have a boat. Rainbow trout reaching weights of 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) as well as bull trout of up to 4.5 kg (10 lb) are resident in the lake. Kokanee are small but plentiful.

Arrow Lake is a 10-minute drive and has Large Gerrard Rainbow Trout and are resident in this lake where fishing is best in the fall month

Snowshoe Lake is a 10 minute drive, has both rainbow and brook trout and are abundant, weigh up to 2 kg (4.4 lb).

Fauquier Golf Course is 7 k/m east. Needles/Fauquier ferry will get you across the Arrow Lake in about 7 minutes.

Hunting is great out here, so if that's an interest, Deer, Elk, and Partridge are plentiful in the area.

20 minutes away is Edgewood, a small, friendly rural community where many of the people make a living working in the local agriculture and forestry industries found in the Inonoaklin Valley and the rest of the Lower Arrow Lakes region. The pace is a little slower with the residents adopting a real laid-back lifestyle. For local services, there is the Edgewood General Store with a gas station, Canada Post Office, Branch 203 Royal Canadian Legion, Vantage One Credit Union and the Edgewood Health Centre.
